CASE STUDIES OF PAINT & COATING REMOVAL

A.C. Holdings – Dry Environment – Starblast Cleaning
Equipment Cleaning – Plant Industrial Cleaning

A.C. Holdings specializes in the application of coatings to chillers and climate control equipment. Blast-it-Clean has entered a joint venture to perform the containment and blast cleaning on these projects. We have successfully completed projects at Children’s Hospital, The BMH Building, and many other sites around Kansas City. Each project requires the construction of custom containment and air handling, blast cleaning to prescribed surface preparation standards and site cleanup. Due to the nature of these projects, we are routinely working in occupied buildings that can’t have any dust escape from the cleaning process and enter the buildings, and require a dust free environment.

National Starch – Dry Environment – Dry Ice Cleaning
Equipment Cleaning – Plant Industrial Cleaning

The buss fuses in a major starch production plant experienced an arching fire. A major cleaning of the brass surfaces was required to improve efficiency and eliminate overheating. Blast-it-Clean was called in to utilize the Dry Ice cleaning method to clean the buildup on all of the internal brass fittings, as well as the other surfaces inside the buss fuse cabinet.

Occidental Chemical Plant – Dry Environment – Dry Ice Cleaning
Equipment Cleaning – Plant Industrial Cleaning

The chemical plant was undergoing their annual maintenance outage. There were a large number of electrical related repair and upgrade projects on the project manager’s list of items to complete. Working in conjunction with the Plant Maintenance Manager, Siemens Electric. Blast-It-Clean played a pivotal role in extending the resources of the staff. All cleaning that would normally been done by hand, was performed by Blast-it-Clean utilizing the dry ice cleaning method. The ability to have Blast-It-Clean on site increased the number of projects that they could complete during the outage week. The maintenance workers that would have been required to perform hand cleaning in past outages were now available to perform different functions.

Executive Hills Maintenance – Dry Environment – Baking Soda Blasting
Paint & Coating Removal

A new cooling tower was installed via helicopter on top of a 15 story building in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Due to the timing of the installation, they were not able to have the pedestal stripped and painted, prior to the installation. Blast-It-Clean was hired to strip and coat the pedestal. Blasting equipment was moved to the top floor and blast hoses were suspended and tied off according to OSHA specifications, to reach the compressor. The water soluble nature of Baking Soda made it the ideal blast media for cleaning. Traditional grit media could not be used because of potential damage to parts in the cooling tower. The project was completed in two days, according to schedule.
